I recently had a great experience attending a Leadership conference and the headline speaker was Tim Tebow.

All I can say is that he is truly amazing. He is a fresh breath of air. He is God's man, at a time when so many sports figures have forsaken the idea that they are role models. Tebow proclaims that "all stars are role models, you are just not very good at it." Tebow knows he is a roll model and he plans to meet the challenge and be a great role model!

Tebow believes we are the light to the world. Matthew 5:14-16.  He went on to say that "if your legacy is investing in people's lives then that is a life of significance."

When asked a question about how he deals with his critics he said, "I don't have to worry about what others say. I know who holds my future."  

Tebow explained, "If you are trying to do anything of significance you are going to have people tell you, you can't, you shouldn't or you won't." but he thinks, "they (the critics) are the ones that can't, shouldn't or won't!" He added, "I leave everything out there. No regrets!"



Another great take away that really applies to the 7:14 Journey is that he said, "you have to finish strong! What is your most urgent prayer request for God?

This was a question in our Easter Sunday church bulletin at Crossings. It made me think about a lot of different things that I am praying for and about. It is a great question. What is your most urgent prayer request for God?

Friends, family, business, ministry, finances, health, my future, are items that come to mind quickly. Still more come to mind with just a minute or two of thought. Forgiveness, repentance, salvation to mention a few. But, I don't think this is a question that should be easily or quickly answered by most.

Momentum Is Building

You have heard the saying, "it is hard to stop momentum." We are picking up momentum each day. I am very encouraged.

Here is another statement you may have heard, "It is hard to submit."

It is so true, humans don't like to submit. It is my will against your will, my will against my bosses will. My will against my husband's will. Children growing up find themselves in a battle to submit their will to their parents will. I could go on with examples.

The battle to submit started in the garden. Learning to submit is basic and fundamental to life. But it is so, so difficult.

The theme this week is learning to submit our-self to the governing authorities...Romans 13:1-4. That is very difficult today because of politics, corruption, the economy and many other things. God really does not care about how difficult it is, He just says to do it. God states that "HE has established the authority" and that "the authority is God's servant." So if we don't submit to the authority in power we are not being obedient. We are in fact, not submitting to our heavenly Father.  As you humble yourself and pray today, pray for your government leaders, pray that you will submit your will to their authority.

Standing Tall

A few months ago I received a wood sculpture as a Christmas presents. The artist named the sculpture "Standing Tall". In the words of the artist and friend, Carl Shortt, "It is symbolic of leadership. The wood is rare and seasoned just as true leaders are unique and have skills that take years to develop. The sculpture stands tall and strong and yet is also open, just as leaders must have the strength of their convictions yet also seek answers outside themselves."

As you can see, it is an out standing sculpture, clean, sleek, smooth, beautiful and very inspiring. I have it sitting on my desk and each day as I write this blog it reminds me of the huge responsibility God has given to me, to glorify Him with my words. To be faithful to the calling He has given me. I have a great opportunity to inspire and encourage you in your faith. I must be Standing Tall.

The 7:14 Journey is a movement that began in the hearts of Mark Batterson and me. Independently we decided to continue the 7:14 Experiment that Mark started for Lent. Last week, Mark and I decided to team up on this project. Using II Chronicles 7:14 as the baseline scripture, we started asking God to give us 500-men and women that will hit their knees daily and pray for their country. Many have signed up.  But, I am no longer praying for 500. The 7:14 Journey has gone world-wide and I am believing God for thousands and thousands to join us. I am believing that this is the start of a world-wide revival.

I am STANDING TALL calling upon you to join us. Calling you to ask your family and friends to join us. If we are serious about our faith and truly want revival in our country in countries around the world then we should sign up and ask our friends to sign up as well.

Ushered Into The Throne Room

I attended the Annual CBMC - OKC Prayer Breakfast this week. It was fantastic!  The best ever! There were many reasons that I can name but I want to focus on the prayer of Oklahoma Congressman James Lankford.

Congressman Lankford's prayer was a fantastic model for the 7:14 Journey. He prayed for President Obama, for Vice President Biden, for the Supreme Court, for the Senate and the House, for our military and their families. He reminded us that our hope is not in Government but in GOD!  As if these words were not convicting enough he then said,

"We complain more than we pray about what is happening in our nation."

You could have heard a pin drop in a room full of about 1,400 people. It was obvious, even to the most casual observer that this man knows God and that he is hitting his knees everyday seeking God's forgiveness and asking God for direction.

Throne Room Of God

Wednesday I attended the annual OKC-CBMC Metro Prayer Breakfast. It was fantastic!  The best one EVER!

One of the highlights was the Prayer lead by Congressman James Lankford of the 5th District of Oklahoma. Congressman Lankford's prayer was so wonderful you felt like you were in God's throne room. His prayer was a perfect model for the 7:14 Journey. He prayed for President Obama with such grace and dignity, Vice President Biden, the Supreme Court, the House and the Senate. He prayed for our military soldiers and their families. He prayed for a swift end to the war and more. Unmistakably, the prayer was from heart of a praying man. You could tell in an instant that he has been on his knees praying for our country to repent and turn to God.

He said something very profound,

"We complain more than we pray about what happens in our nation."

I was convicted! I know what he said is true and not just here in the USA but in nearly every country I have visited. If we want change, we need to quit complaining and hit our knees each day and claim II Chronicles 7:14. We need to circle our country regardless of where you live and pray revival into your soul, into the soul of your country.
